David Bartos advocate, Edinburgh, Scotland

Are you interested in -

• efficient resolution of a dispute by an arbitrator (arbiter) under the Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010 ?

• an expert opinion in the fields of property law, including leases, commercial law, contract, partnership, arbitration, wills, trusts or succession ?

• clearly drafted documents for a court or other tribunal e.g. initial writ, summons, petition, application, claim form, defences ?

• specialist representation at a court or other type of tribunal ?

• a talk or lecture on any of the above fields ?

If the answer to any of these is "yes" you have come to the right place. I have practised as an advocate ("Counsel") since 1993. My work is varied but I specialise in the areas mentioned. The purpose of this site is to inform you of the services that I can provide as an advocate or as an arbitrator (arbiter).

On the right there are articles that I have written and there is also an archive of articles that can be accessed by clicking here. If you are interested in buying Dundas & Bartos on the Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2012 (2nd Ed), the leading commentary on Scotland's arbitration law, co-authored by myself and Hew Dundas, former President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, published in Aug. 2104 click on the title.

The photograph is taken from the Advocates' Library in Edinburgh (founded 1689) which is one of the finest law libraries in the British Isles and despite the internet remains a key source of legal knowledge.
